ZEPLAY log files can fill C: drive

Summary

ZEPLAY's log files will eventually fill the C: drive.

Applies to

  • ZEPLAY (all versions)

Symptoms

  • Low free space on the C: drive.

Cause

ZEPLAY creates a new log file every day that it is used.  As these files log messages related to real-time video processing, they can easily become very large.  If the operator does not intervene they will eventually fill the C: drive of the system.

Workaround

  1. From the Windows Desktop double-click My Computer
  2. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Tightrope Media Systems\ZEPLAY\LogFiles\SxHWControl\
  3. Delete any files that are more than 30 days old

Additional Information

The next version of the ZEPLAY software will include functionality to automatically delete older log files.  Once this functionality is introduced it will no longer be necessary to manually delete these log files.
