Why can’t I switch into Jog mode anymore?

Applies to

  • ZEPLAY 2.1.0+

Answer

One of the changes included as part of the ZEPLAY 2.1.0 software release was a change to the Jog / Shuttle mechanism of the controller.  Before version 2.1.0, pressing down on the Jog / Shuttle knob would switch between Jog and Shuttle mode.  Unfortunately, the switch mechanism in the controller doesn't stand up to strenuous use, and will eventually fail.  In order to mitigate this hardware problem, we implemented a software solution.  ZEPLAY 2.1.0 does away with the Shuttle functionality all together.  You may now press and hold the Shift key on the ZEPLAY controller in order to activate fast-jog mode.

Additional Information

Our support staff can provide you with a plastic washer which can be installed under the wheel on your ZEPLAY controller.  This will provide a more pleasing tactile feel for the Jog wheel.
