Reels with a length of zero seconds cause associated show’s VOD to stay in Source Incomplete state indefinitely

Applies to

  • Cablecast 5.2.0+


  • VOD operations for reels with a length of 0:00:00 are never processed.
  • Other VOD operations are processed as expected.


This behavior is by design.  


In order to allow the VOD operation to proceed you must either delete the reel with zero length, or enter a valid (non-zero) duration.

Additional Information

A future version of Cablecast will include a more verbose notification that the zero-length reel is what is preventing a VOD operation from proceeding.  This will make it easier to identify this situation.

Released A fix for this bug has been released in Cablecast 5.2.9.
