No signal present on SDI Out B of SX2HD server

Summary

When connecting an SX2HD video server, you see valid video on the SDI Out A cable, but no signal on the SDI Out B cable.

Applies to

  • SX2HD Video Server (all versions)

Symptoms

  • Valid video on SDI Out A
  • No Signal on SDI Out B

Cause

The cables on these servers are labeled in a confusing manner.  The video for the second playback channel is present on the SDI Out C / Key cable.  The SDI Out B and SDI Out D / Key cables are not used.

Resolution

Connect to the SDI Out C / Key cable instead.

Additional Information

As of 9/1/2014 Tightrope is relabeling the cables on outgoing SX2HD servers to eliminate this confusion.
