I get an error that "There is insufficient memory in resource pool "internal" to run this query."

Applies to

  • Carousel (any)
  • SQL Server 2012

Symptoms

  • When logging into FrontDoor or managing content within Carousel, and error of "There is insufficient memory in resource pool "internal" to run this query" is passed.   This can be either a one time or a persistent error.

Cause

This issue is an issue marked by Microsoft relating to versions of SQL Server 2012 prior to the Service pack 2.

Resolution

Download and install Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 2 (SP2) on your Carousel server.  SP2 can be obtained at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=43340
