I get an error related to "aspnet:MaxHttpCollectionKeys"

Applies to

  • Carousel 6.0+

  • When creating or editing a bulletin, an error is passed that states:

This error results from the default limit for HTML elements that are requested from the web server.

To fix this issue, we need to edit the web.config files for Carousel and Cablecast.

-Open D:\TRMS\Web\Carousel\web.config and D:\TRMS\Web\Cablecast\web.config with a text editor such as Notepad.

Add the line below to the appConfig section of the file.

<add key="aspnet:MaxHttpCollectionKeys" value="9999" />

Once added, your appConfig section should look similar to this:

<add key="aspnet:MaxHttpCollectionKeys" value="9999" />
<add key="FrontDoorUrl" value="/FrontDoor/" />
<add key="ImageCropper Registration Name" value="TRMS"/>
<add key="ImageCropper License Type" value="Enterprise"/>
<add key="ImageCropper Registration Code" value="--1061267-6918293--"/>
<add key="WeatherbugApiKey" value="a4672172786"/>
<add key="WeatherbugServiceUrl" value=""/>
<!--<add key="MediaPath" value="D:\Some\Other\Path\To\Media\Folder

<!--<add key="MediaPath" value="D:\Some\Other\Path\To\Media\Folder\"/>-->

This change will take effect immediately the next time a web page is loaded.

Additional Information

There are two files for web.config that have similar names: a web.config, and web.config.latest  The correct file to edit is the web.config file, which could be confused for the .latest file is Windows is hiding extensions.  If after editing the config file, the error presents itself again showing 2001 keys, double check to verify you have modified the correct config file.
