How to link a specific video file to a show

Applies to

  • Cablecast (all versions)

Answer

Cablecast associates shows and video files based on the file name of the video file.  The naming convention is ShowID-ReelNumber. Renaming your video file in Digital File Management or on the SX Video Server Content drive will link a file to the specified ShowID, if that show is created already. Here are a few examples:

  • An MPEG-2 file for Reel 1 of Show 2 would be named 2-1-<filename>.mpg
  • A MOV file for Reel 2 of Show 12345 would be named 12345-2-<filename>.mov
