How do I backup my Carousel server?

Answer

It is always a good idea to backup your Carousel databases and Media in the event of a hard drive failure. There are two steps to creating a full backup of all of your Carousel information:

Step 1) Back up your SQL databases through the Front Door web interface by logging into Front Door and selecting Server Setup>Database tools. From that screen, you can choose the file destination and execute the backup:

Step 2) Make a copy of your Media folder. The default location of the media folder on the Carousel server is :

<Install Directory>\TRMS\Web\Carousel\

Simply make a copy of the entire media folder and store it with the .bak files which you created in step 1. It is also a good idea to note which version of Carousel and Front Door you are running at the time of the backup.
