Cablecast - Widescreen Resolution

Problem

My channel output is 4:3, NTSC, or Standard Definition. I want to broadcast in widescreen and/or HD.

Answer

To change your server settings to output in HD or widescreen, you need to change this setting in the SX Configuration Tool. This tool can be found in the task-tray of your broadcast server (SXHD, or Flex).

Off Air Warning! Be sure to consult with your dealer who did the initial installation or contact cablecast support before proceeding. Improper configuration could result in your channel going off-air.

If your SX Configuration is not in the task tray, first ensure you're on the broadcast server that is outputting a signal (this wont work on a Pro unit, CG, or other system). You can launch it by going to C:\TRMS\Control Modules and launching "SXConfiguration.exe".

In the SX Configuration application, you can change the output and input resolution by clicking "Edit" on the right. This can only be done when the server is not actively encoding/decoding files.

Changing a output resolution changes all output resolutions on that server. You cannot change a resolution for a specific channel or port.

Do not make any changes unless you're certain your other equipment can accept that resolution. Not checking other equipment could result in your channels going dark / off-air. When in doubt, contact support@cablecast.tv before making any changes.
