Cablecast 6.0.0 is released

Cablecast 6.0.0 Release Notes

Our engineering team is happy to announce the latest software release for Cablecast. See the full list of new features for Cablecast 6.0.0 listed below.

Please note that there was a significant redesign the Cablecast Web User Interface in this release and there are many additional changes that are not explicitly mentioned in these release notes.

New - 7799: Redesigned Menu navigation pages

Redesigned menu pages to include help text for each item in addition to other improvements.

New - 3309: Redesign Main Menu as a system dashboard

The Cablecast Main Menu now provides many more details about the systems' operational state.

New - 941: System Time is shown in Cablecast Menu Bar

The server's current time is now shown in the Cablecast Menu Bar.

New - 6454: Schedule includes Undo and Redo

The Schedule now includes Undo and Redo functionality.

New - 9020: Cablecast Service creates scaled down thumbnails of digital files

The Cablecast Service now creates scaled versions of thumbnails, so they can be used more effectively.

New - 8833: Redesigned Show Search pages

The Show Search functions have been completely redesigned.

New - 8536: Interstitial should default to zero seconds

The default interstitial length is now zero instead of 45 seconds.

New - 8514: Control Modules log the executed time of an event

The Cablecast Control Modules now log the exact time at which they executed an event in addition to the time at which it was scheduled.

New - 3146: Enhanced Blocking

The new Advanced Paste functionality includes support for blocks that are greater than one week long as well as other improvements.

New - 7978: Redesigned Schedule

The Scheduling interface has been completely redesigned for better performance and more intuitive operation.

New - 8427: SX servers support 25 and 50 fps input and output resolutions

The SX servers can now be set to output PAL frame rate resolutions such as 720p at 50 frames per second.

New - 8515: Servers page displays TeamViewer ID

The System Settings : Servers page now includes the TeamViewer ID number for each configured server.

New - 8757: SX servers show time remaining in Force Menu

The time remaining for the current file is now shown in the Cablecast Force Menu.

New - 8428: SX Servers Support 1080p / 3G-SDI / SMPTE 425 Level A

SX HD video servers now support 1080p as an encode and decode resolution.

New - 8858: Completely new Cablecast User Guide

Wrote a completely new Cablecast user guide with a focus on providing a easy to use reference guide.

New - 6582: Redesigned Public Site

Created a completely new Public Site that includes much better Live Streaming, Video on Demand and search functionality with enhanced customization options.

New - 8861: Redesigned Show screen

The Show screen has been redesigned to be more efficient on mobile devices in addition to many other improvements.

New - 8499: Servers page displays time delta between machines

The System Settings : Servers page now includes the time difference between machines.

New - 8543: SX servers support mixed frame rates

SX video servers can now play files with different frame rates without changing the server's output resolution as long as the files frame rate is in the same family as the server's output resolution.

New - 8829: Cablecast RESTful API

An all-new RESTful JSON & XML API is now available.
