Added IP control of routers using the LeitchRouterCM

Applies to

  • Cablecast 5.4.0+

Answer

As of Cablecast 5.4.0, it is now possible for the LeitchRouterCM to control routers over an IP or serial connection.

To use IP control:

  • Log into Cablecast as admin
  • Navigate to¬†Main Menu : Location Settings : I/O : Control Module Sets
  • Locate the Control Module Set that is configured for your routing switcher
  • In the¬†Port / IP / Local Path¬†field, enter the IP address of your routing switcher
  • Click¬†Save

Additional Information

Prior to version 5.4.0, the LeitchRouterCM could only control routers over a serial connection.

As of version 5.4.0, the control module will inspect the Port / IP / Local Path setting.  If it finds a single number, such as 2, it will treat it as a COM port number and connect over serial.  If it finds an IP address, it will connect over an IP connection.
