Added IP control of routers using the LeitchRouterCM

Answer

As of Cablecast 5.4.0, it is now possible for the LeitchRouterCM to control routers over an IP or serial connection.

To use IP control:

  • Log into Cablecast as admin
  • Navigate to¬†Main Menu : Location Settings : I/O : Control Module Sets
  • Locate the Control Module Set that is configured for your routing switcher
  • In the¬†Port / IP / Local Path¬†field, enter the IP address of your routing switcher
  • Click¬†Save

Additional Information

Prior to version 5.4.0, the LeitchRouterCM could only control routers over a serial connection.

As of version 5.4.0, the control module will inspect the Port / IP / Local Path setting.  If it finds a single number, such as 2, it will treat it as a COM port number and connect over serial.  If it finds an IP address, it will connect over an IP connection.
